About the Event
Art - As some work slowly emerges how is it responding to the ongoing pandemic, through Subject? Aesthetic? Or Practically through a lack of resource and a need for resourcefulness, indeed has it sped up the process of a more sustainable approach?
Action - Here in the Uk it has become clearer than ever the role the Live Arts play in the life of our Towns, Cities and Villages both as Civic and Community Spaces but also as a feeder of the surrounding Economy. It has also become clear it’s important to bring work out on to the streets into our Public Spaces - How are these ideas playing out in your home territories?
Advocacy - As theatre designers living in a moment of global reckoning with racial inequity, how do we justify and navigate working and teaching in predominantly white institutions and universities in some of the most internationally diverse cities in the world? Do we feel equipped to tell stories outside of our own racial identity? As designers, what actions can we take to fight racial inequity in our industry?
